Machine Tool Technology Instructor 


Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices in the Machine Tool occupation; knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment used in Machining; considerable knowledge of the principles and methods of good teaching and supervision; as evidenced by a rating of education and experience. Physically able to lift, stoop, stand and walk to demonstrate and perform all work based projects required. Ability to administer written and performance tests to measure progress, and maintain student records
and attendance in a timely manner. Ability to deal tactfully with students and coworkers; ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly and the ability to plan and direct the work of others. Assist in the recruitment and placement of students.

Requirements of the Position


High School Diploma, GED or HiSet required. Related Technical Diploma or Associates’ Degree preferred.
NIMS Certification or a desire to achieve NIMS certification is required.
Must have a minimum of (3) years successful employment as a machinist.
Must be proficient in the use of vertical and horizontal milling machines, manual engine lathes, grinders, drill press, saws, Die sinker EDM, computer numerical
controlled (CNC) machines such as Fanuc controllers; Haas Machining Centers and other equipment related to the machine tool industry.
Must be proficient in math and blueprint reading.
Ability to use CAD/CAM software.     
Must possess good oral and written communication skills, must have expansive organizational and planning skills.       
Teaching experience is a plus.
Must be willing to learn and use individualized instructional techniques.

Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, general public, and business and industry.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
