POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: INSTRUCTOR, TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATIONS

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology – Shelbyville is now accepting applications for the part-time, day position (not to exceed 29 hours a week) of Instructor, Technology Foundations.  The position will primarily provide instruction at off-campus locations in Franklin, Lincoln, and Marshall counties. 

Minimum Qualifications
The Technology Foundations Instructor shall have a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Education or subject area to be taught from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years teaching experience.  The applicant shall have the ability to teach Basic Math, Reading Comprehension, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Blue Print Reading; shall have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; shall have experience in the area of basic skills for the adult learner; and have the ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.  The position will work under the supervision of the Vice President and in conjunction with the Technology Foundations Instructor on the Shelbyville campus. 

General Duties


The Technology Foundation Instructor is responsible to the institution administration and shall be responsible for providing instruction for students requiring developmental reading and writing skills, as determined by ACT WorkKeys pre-assessment scores, for the various technical, non-allied health training programs offered. These responsibilities include:

1. Traveling to each off-campus location at pre-arranged times to provide instruction and testing;
2. Providing ACT WorkKeys pre-assessment testing;
3. Developing a plan and instruction for each student to complete ACT WorkKeys modules;
4. Providing ACT National Career Readiness Certificate testing;
5. Entering attendance and grades into student information system (Banner);
6. Communicating student academic progress in the area of technology foundations and identifying mechanisms to assist students who may not be progressing on a timely  basis.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
